SEO Tip: Directories and SEO
Don’t waste directory listings.
Directories are rarely used as a means to find a business, but they do have value from an SEO standpoint. There are many businesses who use their company name as the link in DMOZ or Yahoo and I am here to tell you that unless your company name is womans Shoes or womansshoes.com in which the exact keyword phrase is your URL or business name, dont use it. You are better off targeting a specific primary keyword for your “Title or Name” field in the directory.
For example XYZlaw.com is better off using their primary keyword such as Civil Litigation Attorneys as their name in the directories as that will add alot of SEO value and a rankings boost.
